About Kim Raczka

Hello, I am Kim Raczka, I am from a small town in Pennsylvania, USA.  I am the mother of two young adults who are actively working on their college years.  I have a B.S. in Biology from Cedar Crest College and my Masters in Food Safety from Michigan State University.

My fitness journey started a little over 10 years ago.  After going through a rough divorce, I had gained weight.  I was a very active single mom of two young children.  Working full-time in the food industry and coaching and leading many of my children’s youth sports teams from cheerleading, basketball, soccer, and baseball/ softball.  I couldn’t believe how my physical health had changed.  I was in my early 40’s at the time and close to the worst shape of my life.

The area I live in did not have gyms that made women feel comfortable.  They were all the men’s style powerlifting gyms that had some aerobic-type classes that you could join.  Finally, an Anytime Fitness had come to our area, so I joined with a friend.  I had no clue what to do.  But I knew that walking endlessly on the treadmill or ellipticals was not for me.  For this reason, I sought out an online personal trainer.  While I learned a lot from her, I also learned what I did and did not like about the process.  The loss of personal touch was not there.

Throughout the years I was able to maintain an inconsistency with my physical fitness.  Life struggles always seemed to occur.  I never realized until this past year how every time life threw me a curveball I stepped away from the gym. And these were the times when I needed the gym the most.

In 2001 I survived a scare with Breast Cancer, in 2008 I went through a difficult divorce and lost my job the following year.  Being a single mom of two young children unsure how I was going to provide for them was one of the hardest moments of my life.  In 2016 I herniated a disc in my neck this went being properly diagnosed for several years until after the second disc was herniated.  Then in 2018 I was raped by someone who I had considered a friend.  This rape sent me into a downward spiral both emotionally and physically and I suffered from PTSD.  I no longer wanted to leave my home, I would only go out to go to work or shop for food.  I would wake up from nightmares drenched in sweat.  Even my daily drive to work was filled with dread and endless crying. During this time, I had gained weight. I eventually sought therapy and learned about Reiki and meditation.  Once I was able to heal my mind and soul I knew what I needed to do.  I went back to the gym.   This time I took the advice of my friends and family that had always told me I should be a personal trainer, I was  natural leader and motivator.  Being a trainer was no longer just a hobby that I did for my friends and family.  I achieved my NASM-CPT and Opened up my private gym for one on one private training session.  I have continued to add onto my knowledge by adding Certified Nutrition coaching.

My goal is to provide my clients with a community of others on the same journey for support, education in nutrition to understand this is not a diet but a path to understanding how to properly fuel our bodies, training which is personalized to your individualized goals, motivational and mindfulness is always shared as learned through my Reiki Level II certification, followed by accountability and consistency.

Story Behind the Logo

The journey of health and fitness is symbolized within my logo.

“The Unalome is originally a Hindu symbol that graphically recalls Shiva’s Third Eyer and it represents wisdom and the path to perfection”
It is a symbol of the journey to enlightenment.

I choose this symbol as it reflects upon our path in health and fitness.  The path is not always straight, perfect, or even in the direction, we are seeking. One’s health and fitness journey is filled with many missteps, learning, and will always have its ups and downs.

Within the symbol itself, there are 4 phases:

At the beginning of the bar, the swirls symbolize the starting point, the beginning when we decided to start our path to health and fitness.  This phase can be filled with chaos as there is an abundance of information and fades available via the internet.

Next, we transition to Nirvana.  This is the learning phase by trial and error.  I myself have tried many different ways including Keto, supplements, and endless crunches.

The straight bar is the Nirvana or Maturation phase.  This is where we become centered, wiser, and closer to achieving our goals.  It symbolizes maturity and understanding that comes with life experiences.

The final phase is Enlightenment.  Symbolizes reaching our goals, freedom, and enlightenment.
